ABOUT US

HISTORY
Our church traces its roots to the ancient Tigray Orthodox Tewahedo tradition, a faith that has endured for centuries. In the wake of the ostracisation and the genocidal war in Tigray in 2020, this sacred community was scattered and wounded.
Yet, by God’s grace, the church has re‑emerged in recent years, re‑establishing itself as a spiritual home for the faithful.
Through resilience, prayer, and unity, the Tigray Orthodox Tewahedo Church has once again sought to reunite its followers and worshippers, continuing the holy mission entrusted to it from the beginning.
VALUES
We stand firmly in the tradition of the Oriental Orthodox Churches, upholding the Holy Trinity and the teachings of the Apostolic faith. Our values are rooted in:
-
Faithfulness to the Word of God and the sacraments.
-
Unity with our sister Oriental churches in doctrine and practice.
-
Service to the community through prayer, charity, and priestly deeds.
-
Preservation of our sacred traditions, culture, and liturgy.
These values guide us in living out our faith with reverence and devotion.

VISION
Our vision is to bring the Christian community together in fellowship, worship, and mutual support. We seek to create a spiritual home where:
-
People are strengthened through the preservation of tradition and culture.
-
Families and individuals find encouragement, guidance, and pastoral care.
-
The faithful are united in prayer, song, and service to God.
Through this vision, we strive to glorify God, nurture the faithful, and ensure that the light of the Tigray Orthodox Tewahedo Church continues to shine for generations to come.
